DWP benefit payment rates set to rise next April including Universal Credit, PIP and State Pension

A range of benefits are set to rise next April, including the State Pension and Universal Credit.

The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed the changes will come into effect on April 5, 2021.

The benefits affected by the rise include Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), State Pension and legacy benefits such as Jobseekers Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income Support and Housing Benefit.

Attendance Allowance

  • Higher rate: £89.60 (from £89.15)

  • Lower rate: £60.00 (from £59.70)

Carer’s Allowance

  • April 2021 rate: £67.60 (from £67.25)

Disability Living Allowance

Care Component

  • Highest: £89.60 (from £89.15)

  • Middle: £60.00 (from £59.70)

  • Lowest: £23.70 (from £23.60)

Mobility component

  • Higher: £62.55 (from £62.25)
