The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced what dates those who claim Universal Credit will receive their money this Christmas.
Usually, claimants of the benefit usually receive the funds on around the same day every month - but this does not apply to bank holidays, including Christmas.
In these situations, people will be transferred the money earlier, as reported by Birmingham Live.

Fortunately, those who have been waiting for confirmation have now received details of when they will get their money from the UK Government.
This December, Christmas will take place on a Saturday, meaning that December 27 and December 28 are both bank holidays - so those who usually receive their money on these dates will be affected by the change.
The UK Government's website states that those who usually receive their payment on these dates will get their money on the Friday before Christmas Day - so December 24.
If your payment is due around the festive period here are the new dates you can expect the money to hit your bank account:
- Due date: December 27; payment date: December 24
- Due date: December 28; payment date: December 24
- Due date: January 3; payment date: December 31
The amount that you receive and how you're paid should remain the same which also means that future payments shouldn't be affected.

Additionally, gas and electric bills have shot up, as well as petrol and diesel prices due to the fuel crisis, and food bills are on the rise as well.
