Dwight Yorke orders Gary Neville to "grow up" after "disrespectful" Man Utd claim

Ex- Manchester United ace Dwight Yorke has told his former Red Devils team-mate Gary Neville to "grow up" after he raised eyebrows during the most recent Monday Night Football.

Neville, alongside fellow pundit and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, was tasked with putting together a combined eleven made up of players from the current Manchester City side and the United treble winners of 1999. City look set to match the historic achievement of their local rivals, given they have both the FA Cup and Champions League final coming up and the Premier League already secured.

Combined eleven's always tend to spark debate, but in truth, Yorke was in no mood to even discuss the concept given City are yet to actually win all three pieces of silverware.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Football on behalf of aceodds, the Old Trafford icon explained: "Well, to be quite honest, people go on about this debate that's continuing to unravel. Why are we talking about it? They haven't even done the treble. Until they really have, then there is no debate.

"You know, there is a high possibility, I suppose, that they can do the treble. But that's great. If they do, they will be joining an elite group of players. You know, no other British team has done that. It's not like they're going to try and eclipse what we have done. And so I just don't get it.

"Until they have done that, then let the debate start. You're arguing something that has not happened yet. And until they've done that, then I just really think it's an invaluable sort of debate.

“What if they were to lose one out of the next two cup competition that they enter into? So that debate will never exist. So come on, guys, just tell them to grow up both of them. You know, they're going on about stuff that I don't feel that is really needs debating just now, in my opinion."

City face off with United under the iconic Wembley arch on Saturday, June 3rd before meeting Inter Milan in Istanbul for the Champions League final a week later.

Guardiola's side are undeniably heavy favourites in both, especially given what's on the line and what this City side are chasing.

When it comes to Neville's choice of players if he had to mix the current City crop with his own ex-United side, he made the bold decision to omit both Yorke and his strike partner Andy Cole. He replaced the pair with Etihad duo Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.

It must be pointed out that he did so reluctantly, as after making his decision he quickly added: "I felt like I was being disrespectful to Yorkey and Coley.

"They were amazing. Yorke has more goals/assists than De Bruyne - I felt I was being harsh. If you were being objective - and I don't want to be here...!"
