Dwight Howard channels Kobe Bryant, says ‘job not finished’ up 3-1

It’s been seven years since the last time Dwight Howard was in the playoffs with the Los Angeles Lakers and there’s so much that has changed since his first stint with the Lakers. However, the impact of his first run with the Lakers is unmistakable as he now plays a key role for the Lakers again as they look to make their first run to the NBA Finals in over a decade. Specifically, the lessons he learned from Kobe Bryant, who passed away earlier this year in a helicopter crash, are with him as the Lakers are one win away from the Finals.

“Job’s not finished,” Howard told reporters on Friday, echoing what Bryant himself said against Howard’s Orlando Magic in the 2009 NBA Finals.

Howard has been a crucial reason why the Lakers are up 3-1, playing a major role in two of the three Lakers wins in the series, including getting the start in Thursday night’s Game 4 win.
