Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson says 'My divorce did a number on me'

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson opened up about getting married again after splitting from his wife Dany Garcia in 2007.

“My divorce did a number on me,” he told WSJ. Magazine. “I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren [Hashian] was incredibly patient: ‘I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no presh.”

The former professional wrestler and current actor wed his longtime girlfriend in Hawaii in August. They share daughters Jasmine and Tiana and have been together for more than ten years after meeting on the set of The Game Plan in 2006. They started dating in 2007 and his divorce was finalized in 2008.

For the Jumanji star, it was love at first sight. “Within 30 seconds, I thought, ‘Wow, this girl’s stunning,’” he said.

“At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany and she [Hashian] was just coming off a big breakup too. Ironically, when you’re not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over,” he told the magazine.

Hashian is a singer, songwriter and music producer who attended Emerson College. Her dad was the drummer in the band Boston, so music runs in the family - perhaps their daughters will pursue it, too, unless they try their tiny hands at wrestling.

The Rock previously told Entertainment Tonight, "I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, 'Oh, did you get married?' I'm like, 'No. Easy. Don't rush big daddy.'"
