Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up about whether he’d consider an eventual run for president.

“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” he told USA Today.

“Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer,” Johnson added.

The Jumanji star is currently promoting a new NBC series based on his life called Young Rock, where, in the year 2032, he launches a presidential run.

In real life, the decision to run for president would be “up to the people”, he said.

“So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”

Back in 2017, the former pro wrestler said there was a “real possibility” he would run for president.

“A year ago, it started coming up more and more,” the Fate of the Furious actor told GQ at the time. “There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’”

In the past, Johnson, who is registered Independent, spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2000 and attended the Democratic National Convention the same year.

More recently, Johnson endorsed President Joe Biden during his 2020 run.

“... as a registered Independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become President, and Vice President, of our United States,” Johnson said in a video posted on Twitter last September.
