Dwayne Haskins will make his first career start in Week 9 vs. Bills

Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins will finally get his first start on Sunday as the Redskins travel to New York to take on the Buffalo Bills.

Haskins was named the starter after Friday’s practice. Case Keenum is still working to clear the concussion protocol after being knocked out of the last game against the Minnesota Vikings.

In relief, Haskins struggled with only three passes completed, one going for an interception, but the rookie has been taking reps with the first team for the past several days, preparing to start in case Keenum was unable to play.

The team refused to comment on whether or not Haskins would start in the coming weeks as well, but Sunday is a milestone for the player Washington hopes is its franchise quarterback.
