Dwayne Haskins wants his great performance over the weekend to be a regular thing

Lost in the mess of Dwayne Haskins’ season-ending injury and Dan Snyder getting involved is the simple fact the rookie quarterback had a good performance while on the field.

In fact, the Washington Redskins first-round pick threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 attempts. He attributes it to rhythm — he only had three incompletions on the day.

“That’s what I want to do every game,” Haskins said, according to ESPN’s John Keim. “I did it in college, and I know college is not the NFL — the NFL is a much tougher game — but I was in the rhythm and getting hot.”

Haskins’ season-long numbers finish at seven touchdowns and interceptions on a 58.6 completion percentage but hardly tell the whole story.

Once need became a factor and Haskins got first-team reps things started turning for the better and coaches were adamant the upswing was apparent, even if the team wasn’t winning.

If Haskins can roll some of the lessons learned and this brief bit of momentum into Year 2, the team should be in a good place.
