Dwayne Haskins sought out Eli Manning after his first pro showing

Dwayne Haskins had a rough start in his first pro experience but made a point to seek out a guy he’s always looked up to after Sunday’s game.

Haskins, after taking over for Case Keenum in the loss to the New York Giants, found Eli Manning after the game and the two shared a moment.

From NJ.com’s Brian Fonseca:

“I talked to Eli after the game and I just told him how much I appreciated watching him since I was eight years old,” Haskins said following the 24-3 loss. “I grew up here and lived an hour away from the stadium. (New) Jersey still runs deep in my blood and it allowed for me to be out there and some of my family was here.”

It’s a fun note about Haskins, who otherwise had a drab day, throwing three interceptions while completing just nine passes.

Manning is an interesting connection for Haskins to make because the veteran just lost his job to Daniel Jones, one of the passers selected before the Ohio State product came off the board to the Redskins.

Haskins will get to link up with Manning and potentially face Jones again in Week 16.
