Dwayne Haskins’ reaction to the Giants drafting Daniel Jones spoke for everyone

Ohio State superstar Dwayne Haskins had been penciled in as the second quarterback to come off the board after Kyler Murray entered the draft, and many analysts and fans expected the New York Giants to take Haskins sixth overall – provided no other team traded up to take Haskins.

Haskins broke Drew Brees’ single-season Big Ten record with an astonishing 50 touchdown passes during the 2018 season, but on Thursday night Haskins watched as the Giants elected to back up Eli Manning with Duke star Daniel Jones, a pick that was widely panned on Twitter.

Haskins did not attend the draft in Nashville, and instead watched along with his friends in family from a bowling alley in Maryland. When Jones was announced as the No. 6 pick, Haskins let out a slight laugh and shook his head.

It’s possible that Haskins and Jones could become division rivals. Haskins said this week that he has a strong connection with the Redskins, and Washington is one of the teams in desperate need of a quarterback.

[UPDATE]: The Redskins drafted Haskins 15th overall.
