Jumping from a college quarterback star to an NFL starter under center isn’t easy, even for the fifteenth overall draft pick in the first round of an NFL draft. Former Ohio State and current Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins found that out the hard way. Despite one record-setting season at Ohio State that ended with him being a Heisman Finalist in 2018, the transition to the NFL wasn’t easy.
Far from it.
Haskins penned a letter on Redskins.com that takes readers through his journey of being drafted, to the competition for winning the starting quarterback job, to a backup role, and then to eventual starter. There were some tough lessons and frustrating moments along the way.
