Dwayne Haskins on expectations for 2020: ‘I’m going to deliver’

When the 2019 NFL season came to an end for the Washington Redskins, the mindset for rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins was simple. He knew that he had to get better if he wanted to stick around in this league, and only he could control his level of preparation and determination.

Ever since then, Haskins says he has been focused on improving, and little else. He’s kept his nose in the playbook while dropping 10 pounds alone since the end of last season, and he’s ready for the season ahead. When talking to the media on Thursday, Haskins admitted that this offseason workouts started just days after the 2020 season ended, and the amount of time he’s put into getting better is starting to peak through.

Not only will Haskins have to get better on the field, but he will have to grow mentally as well, with a new offensive coordinator in his year and a fresh system to learn. Based on all of the reports we’ve seen thus far, though, it seems that the second-year QB is up to the task.
