Dwayne Haskins is starting to show a lot of improvement in practice

It’s been a rough start to his NFL career for Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

After having his No. 15 selection highly questioned in April, the former Ohio State player has seen his talent put under the microscope by the media landscape as he was tossed into the fire during a week 4 game against the New York Giants, in which he threw for three interceptions and zero touchdowns. Since then, he’s been sent to the bench with his confidence drained, he’s seen his head coach be fired, and been forced to sit back as the interim coach said he wasn’t ready to play, naming him the third-string quarterback. Not ideal for the first two months of your career.

However, things may be looking up for Haskins, as Bill Callahan, the new coach in Washington, has come out and said that the rookie is showing a lot of growth in the offense. In Wednesday’s practice, it was reported that Haskins took all of the first-team reps with starting QB Case Keenum taking a veteran’s day off, and word from the facilities are that things went rather smoothly.

Moreso than just Callahan praising the rookie, Haskins former teammate at Ohio State, WR Terry McLaurin, says that he has noticed his QB get much more comfortable in the huddle, and he can see him starting to grow as a player.

While it may have been tough sledding for the first couple of months of his career, things are starting to look up for Haskins. If you’re a Redskins fan, this is exactly what you want to hear.
