Dwayne Haskins impressed Washington brass with his brain per ESPN

This should really come as a surprise to nobody, but if the brass in Washington wasn’t sold on the tape it saw of Dwayne Haskins lighting up opposing secondaries last year, then when they met with him, it was a slam dunk.

Many will tell you that Haskins’ arm-strength and accuracy set him apart from other potential draft picks. And while that’s true, that’s not the full story. It would be a disservice to leave out his analytical abilities from the most important position on the field. He reportedly blew away analysts and NFL suits with his work on the whiteboard drawing up and dissecting plays.

Apparently, according to a piece on ESPN, part of the reason he won over the front-office in Washington was because of his brain.

It’s a good piece and one worth reading, and it really makes you wonder what the Giants were thinking by passing him over. It’s rare you get the combination of physical abilities, humility, and the ability to think and react like it appears Haskins can.

Hey, maybe we’re wrong, but if not, look out NFL. Dwayne Haskins might just be the steal of the draft at No. 15 in the first round. Time will tell.
