After putting on an impressive display in OTAs this past week, Washington Redskins rookie QB Dwayne Haskins has been getting high praise from coaches and media members alike.
The utmost praise, however, may be coming from former NFL QB and NFL analyst Chris Simms, who says that Haskins has a “Big Ben Roethlisberger-type talent” about him.
“He reminds me a lot of a big Ben Roethlisberger with his style of football play. [Haskins] arm is special, there’s no doubt about that,” Simms said, via NBC Sports.
Haskins has the size and stature of a quarterback that can last in the cold winters up north, and his foot-speed and arm talent give him a leg up on the rest of the rookie class in the league.
“[Haskins] has Big Ben Roethlisberger-type talent and I know he’s already wowed some people down there in Washington in his first few practices,” Simms said.
Whatever your feelings are about Big-Ben, there are definitely worse players to be compared to. If Simms is right, then the Redskins should be in a great position for years to come.
