Dutch legend thinks Liverpool's Sadio Mane can become the new Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been compared to Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mane, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions this term, has been in scintillating form as the Reds have dominated the Premier League.

The Senegal striker was rested for Liverpool's 3-0 win over Bournemouth after his superb display against Everton in midweek.

And Netherlands legend Danny Blind has insisted the 27-year-old's all round play matches that of five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo.

The father of Ajax star Daley Blind explained: "Sadio Mane is the new Ronaldo in world football.

"As an attacking player he is absolutely fantastic. I can go through all his qualities - and he is superb in every aspect.

"He can score with his left foot, his right foot, with sensational headers.

"He can give brilliant assists, he is an incredible athlete - and I could go on even more!

"Mane is the super modern player. If you look at his skills that is one great thing, but he is able to combine that with astonishing sprints right throughout the game.

"That requires so much power. You have to be incredibly strong both physically and mentally. But Sadio has it all."

On Tuesday, the Reds will travel to Austria to take on RB Salzburg knowing a win would take them through to the Champions League knockout stages.

Mane will be looking to start against his former side as 2019's winners of the competition Liverpool vie for a place in the last 16.
