Dutch FA make decision that could impact Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham after UEFA's statement

Professional football in the Netherlands has been postponed until September 1st due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed on Tuesday evening that all events requiring a permit in the Netherlands will not be allowed to take place until September 1.

The move means the country's current football cannot be completed, leading to suggestions that the Dutch FA will have to work out a way to void the 2019/20 season entirely.

Which country's clubs have most Champions League goals?

Clubs are believed to be meeting on Friday to decide what to do going forward, but the league being played to a finish certainly looks unlikely.

UEFA confirmed earlier today that they will produce guidelines for associations that want to end their season early - but did strongly recommend top leagues finish their season.

Leagues across Europe are all in similar positions, with plenty of proposals of how to complete them being mooted by various clubs, associations and executives.

However, Italy has moved to confirm that all 20 Serie A teams have unanimously agreed they should try and complete the 2019-20 season.

Clubs in the division had initially been divided on what steps to take moving forward, with Sampdoria and Torino against playing on, while Brescia claimed they would forfeit matches rather than take to the field to finish the season.

"The Serie A general assembly met this morning and confirmed, with a unanimous vote of all 20 clubs connected by video conference, the intention to complete the 2019-2020 football season, if the government allows it to take place," Serie A said in a statement.

The Premier League confirmed on Friday afternoon that all its clubs are united in finishing the current season but it remains unclear as to how they plan to finish it.
