Yes, Canberra, it did snow while you were sleeping. But just a little bit.
Residents across the Tuggeranong Valley and inner south woke this morning to find a light dusting of snow on their lawns and ice on their windscreens.
It seems early-bird runners in fact catch the snow, with brisk early morning pictures snapped of the white dust at Mount Majura.
In other areas of the territory, smatterings of light hail and some showers were reported.
As a result, motorists are warned that patches of ice are expected on the roads before the temperature climbs to an expected high of 11 degrees C.
Overnight, the city's temperature fell to a low of minus 1.7 degrees C in the City overnight, hitting its lowest point at 4.55am.

Tuggeranong dropped to a low of minus 0.5 degrees C.
Canberra residents noted light dustings of snow, which some snow purists are arguing would more correctly be described as heavy frosts, across their windscreens and cars overnight.

A high pressure system is sitting to our west and dominating our weather at the moment, drawing cold air up from the south and channelling it across the alpine areas and the ACT.
A new trough and cold front is expected later in the week.
Meanwhile, a light layer of (unarguably real) snow descended across the region in Jindabyne.
