Dustin Diamond 'to be cremated with his ashes shared between dad and girlfriend'

Dustin Diamond will be cremated to honour his final wishes, it's claimed.

The Saved By The Bell star tragically died on Monday, just three weeks after he was diagnosed with stage four small-cell lung carcinoma. He was just 44-years-old.

According to a report from TMZ, Dustin wanted to be cremated and to have his ashes shared between his girlfriend Tash and his father.

The site also reports that there are no plans to scatter Dustin's ashes.

Dustin, who was best known for playing Screech in the sitcom, reportedly didn't want to be buried under a tombstone because he was scared that his grave would be vandalised because of his fame.

His family are also asking for all donations to go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honour of his mother, who died of breast cancer.

Dustin had been hospitalised on Friday, before being released around noon on Monday (US time) and taken to a friend's house for hospice care.

Tash and their friend were preparing his bedroom and Dustin was still on the hospital bed in the living room where she found him not breathing.

Paramedics rushed to the house and he was pronounced dead.

Dustin had a do not resuscitate order.

On Monday, Dustin's rep confirmed that he had died.

They said in a statement: "We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond's passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma.

"He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago.

"In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution.

"Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful."
