Dusan Vlahovic told to reject Arsenal transfer for Tottenham amid Erling Haaland claim

Former Italy defender Daniele Adani has urged Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic to join Tottenham Hotspur over local rivals Arsenal.

Vlahovic has been linked with both north London clubs in recent weeks and the Viola's president Rocco Commisso has already revealed that the Serbian international is unwilling to extend his contract with the club.

Speaking back in October, Commisso said: “As you know, Fiorentina made a very significant offer to the player. Our proposal would have made him the highest-paid player in the history of the club.

“We also improved our offer on a number of occasions in order to accommodate the requests of both Dusan and his entourage. However, despite our efforts, those offers have not been accepted.

“During my time in Florence over the past few weeks, I have personally endeavoured to find a solution that would make both the player and the club happy, but I am disappointed to say that our efforts and attempts have not been rewarded."

Since then, a number of Italian outlets have claimed that both Spurs and the Gunners are keen to bring the 21-year-old - who has netted an impressive 15 Serie A goals this season - to the English capital.

Now, former Inter Milan centre-half Adoni has urged the prolific frontman to make the move to N17, claiming that he would benefit from playing under Lillywhites boss Antonio Conte.

Speaking to BoboTV, he said: “Why not choose Conte and Tottenham? Antonio would make Vlahovic grow, as happened with [Romelu] Lukaku at Inter.”

However, ex-Real Madrid striker Anthony Cassano urged the youngster to join Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, claiming that the Spaniard would help Vlahovic reach the current level of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

Cassano said: “Choose Guardiola and go to Manchester City. I don’t know if you will already be up to it. But in just one-year with him, you would reach the level of Haaland.

“If, on the other hand, at 20 you find a manager who does not know how to talk and work with you, your growth ends.”
