Dusan Vlahovic sends message to Arsenal transfer targets following failed Edu approach

Arsenal need to end their pursuit for Dusan Vlahovic, as the club are making themselves look undesirable to other transfer targets.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Serbian striker, which excited a lot of fans, due to his successful exploits in Serie A.

In recent weeks it has been clear that Mikel Arteta’s side lacks a top quality striker, and they have identified Vlahvoic to potentially fill that void.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Serbian international has zero interest in joining the Gunners, which could give other top strikers the same feeling.

It is clear that Edu is seriously interested in the Fiorentina striker, as the club still retains their interest despite receiving multiple knockbacks in their pursuit to sign him.

Last week, Fiorentina’s president hit out at Arsenal for asking Vlahovic’s agent about a transfer before approaching the player’s club about a potential deal.

This has now been followed up by the reports that the 21-year-old has zero interest in joining the club.

This is worrying for Arsenal, as the north London side are in desperate need for a striker, but Vlahovic’s intentions may also be contagious for the other top forwards the Gunners are attempting to sign.

It is highly likely Arteta will sign a new forward in the next two transfer windows as Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette’s contracts are set to expire in the summer, and it seems like a certainty that both strikers will be departing.

This will leave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Folarin Balogun as the only senior strikers at the club, with the latter likely to go out on loan to gain more first-team experience.

Arsenal have been linked to Alexander Isak and Jonathan David, alongside Vlahovic, as the pursuit for a striker hots up.

However, Arsenal’s recent poor performances domestically and in Europe is losing the attraction to join the north London side, which is the case with Vlahovic.

Arteta’s side will require better performances before the end of the season if the Gunners want to secure the signature of a top striker.
