Dusan Tadic rates Scotland's Euro 2020 chances as Ajax star dials back Serbia noise

Serbia hero Dusan Tadic has warned Scotland must not be underestimated and insists Thursday’s Euro crunch is a 50-50 showdown.

The Ajax ace is one of the hosts’ most-dangerous weapons as they look to blow apart the dreams of Steve Clarke and his troops in Belgrade.

Serbia are regarded as favourites going into the clash, but Tadic is refusing to accept the tag and desperate to bill it an even shootout.

He struck a more cautious tone than team-mate Djordje Despotovic last week, who completely wrote off Scotland's chances.

But former Southampton star Tadic said: “When it’s a Final, it’s 50-50. It doesn’t matter which teams are there.

“You always want to win and you always expect to win, but it’s not that easy.

“I played against Scotland in 2013 in qualification for the World Cup. It was 2-0 to us, but it was tough.

“Scotland is a good team with hard workers and a good mentality. There’s a lot of quality players playing in the English Premier League like [Scott] McTominay and [Andy] Robertson. It’s a good unit.

“You cannot underestimate anybody, especially Scotland. In a Final, it is 50-50 and we will see who is best.”

Serbia are looking to make it back-to-back qualifications having reached the 2018 World Cup Finals in Russia.

Speaking to Sky, Tadic added: “It is crucial you have momentum and it becomes normal that Serbia is at every Euros and every World Cup. We need to put up that standard.”
