Dusan Tadic issues Scotland 'Gladiator' warning as Serbia star hits out with Braveheart motivation one-liner

Serbia star Dusan Tadic jokes he'll watch Gladiator to get him fired-up for the play-off showdown with Scotland.

Steve Clarke 's side face a do-or-die play-off in Belgrade on Thursday which has inevitably attracted Braveheart comparisons.

And the Ajax ace says he and his team-mates may also turn to the silver screen if they need any more motivation to get the job done.

Asked what film the Serbia squad would watch if Scotland watch the Mel Gibson classic he replied: "Gladiator."

Under ordinary circumstances the visitors would have been walking into the football equivalent of Rome's Colosseum, with 50,000 Serb fans at the legendary Marakana.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic though the match will be behind closed doors.

Tadic admitted: "It is certain that we are sorry that there are no fans.

"It doesn't matter if it's away or at home. There is always an extra charm when you play in front of full stands.

"There are no favourites in finals like this, it's always 50-50. It doesn't matter if one team has more or less quality, there are no favourites in finals."
