During historic year for points and TDs, Packers lead NFL in both

The Green Bay Packers are leading the way during the most prolific scoring season in NFL history.

The 9,503 points and 1,093 touchdowns scored during the first 13 weeks of the 2020 season are both the most in NFL history. The league leader in both categories? The Packers.

Matt LaFleur’s team is first in points scored (379, 31.6 per game) and touchdowns (48) entering Week 14.

The Packers are on pace for 505 points this season. The franchise has only scored over 500 points once before (560, 2011). The Packers are also on pace for 64 total touchdowns, which would rank second in team history (70, 2011).

Only 24 teams have averaged at least 31.6 points per game in a season, and 12 – or half – played in the Super Bowl.

At quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is having one of his best seasons during one of the most efficient seasons in NFL history for quarterback play.

The league’s overall passer rating (93.4) and number of touchdown passes (653) are both the second-most in NFL history after 13 weeks. Rodgers is first in both categories, leading all quarterbacks in passer rating at 118.5 and passing touchdowns at 36.
