Durham Cricket offers free tickets to key workers for Essex fixture

Durham Cricket are set to give key workers free tickets for their One Day cup fixture against Essex at Emirates Riverside.

Durham will play last season’s County Champions Essex in a one-day game on Sunday, August 8 at Emirates Riverside in Chester-le-Street and key workers can come and enjoy the game with family and friends free of charge.

Anyone defined as a key worker can claim up to four free tickets to bring family or friends along to the game and enjoy a fun summer's day out.

Durham Cricket chief executive, Tim Bostock, said: “Everyone at Durham cricket and across the region appreciates that our key workers kept this country going through the pandemic, because of them, many lives were saved and protected, and this is a small gesture from the club to recognise and thank them for their efforts.

“Hopefully some of them can come for a fun day out and enjoy a few hours of cricket in the sun with family and friends.”

The game will start at 11am with gates opening at 9.30am and will finish at around 6pm.

Tickets must be booked in advance and can be ordered via the club's website using code Keyworkers21 or by calling the box office on 0191 3871717.
