Durant fires back at fans angry over his OKC comments, ‘You’ll be aight tomorrow’

Kevin Durant is not here for your comments.

In fairness, you probably can’t tell an entire city that you spent the first eight years of your career in that you’ll “never feel attached” to it again, or say that it gave off a “venomous, toxic” feeling when you returned after signing with another team, without expecting some backlash.

Durant painted a less than pleasant picture of his experience playing the last three seasons with the Golden State Warriors but was especially explicit about his feelings for the Oklahoma City Thunder. It seems Durant’s problem with Oklahoma City stems from his return as a member of the Warriors in 2017, the first time he was back since leaving the Thunder following the 2015-16 season.

The Brooklyn Nets guard recently sat down to do a profile with J.R. Moehringer for Wall Street Journal Magazine that was published on Tuesday.

Durant told Moehringer that he was surprised most by the reaction from the organization:

Such a venomous toxic feeling when I walked into that arena. And just the organization, the trainers and equipment managers, those dudes is pissed off at me? Ain’t talking to me? I’m like, Yo, this is where we going with this? Because I left a team and went to play with another team?

He went on to say that he “didn’t trust anybody” with the Thunder:

That shit must have been fake, what they was doing. The organization, the GM, I ain’t talked to none of those people, even had a nice exchange with those people, since I left.

Needless to say, it didn’t go over well with fans, and Durant spent most of the day Tuesday responding to his mentions.

Durant has a history of responding to fans who are critical on social media and reminded everyone once again why he’s known for going back-and-forth with them on Twitter.
