DUP warn they won't back Brexit deal even if Theresa May asks a THOUSAND times

Theresa May's DUP allies today declared they won't back her Brexit deal - even if she forces them to vote a THOUSAND times.

The party's Brexit spokesman lashed out at the PM as she mulls bringing back the pact for a fourth House of Commons vote as soon as tomorrow.

Mrs May's 585-page Withdrawal Agreement with the EU was voted down by 58 votes on Friday, the third time it has been defeated in Parliament.

34 Tory rebels joined the 10 MPs from the DUP - who are supposed to be Mrs May's allies - in voicing concerns about the Irish backstop.

The clause could extend EU customs rules over the UK indefinitely - and force checks on items crossing the Irish Sea, creating a new invisible 'border'.

Brexit: Chief Whip blasts worst-behaved Cabinet 'in history' as Tories descend into war

DUP Brexit spokesman Sammy Wilson told the BBC: "If she doesn't change her mind, we won't continue to vote for it should she bring it back a hundred times.

"Should she bring it back a thousand times, we will vote against it, because of the implications for Northern Ireland."

He added: "The implications for Northern Ireland are far, far too serious.

"First of all, it would take us away from the country that we fought to stay part of. And secondly, it would break us away from the economy on which we are dependent.

"Because, of course, the GB economy is the most important economy given where we export our goods and bring our goods from."

It comes as MPs will tonight hold another series of votes to try and find an alternative route out of the Brexit deadlock.

None of the eight options put to ‘indicative votes’ last week, after MPs seized control of the agenda last week, were approved.

Many will now return for a second round tonight, with a soft Brexit option like Tory Ken Clarke's plan for a customs union expected to come out on top.

But 170 Tory MPs including 10 ministers signed a letter against a customs union and calling for a hard Brexit.

Downing Street sources last week suggested a fourth vote on the Brexit deal could come in the form of a run-off between Theresa May's deal, and whatever comes out on top in 'indicative votes'.

Meanwhile Downing Street aides are split on whether to call an election, something Jeremy Corbyn tells the Mirror today he is rearing to fight.

There are just nine days left to an emergency EU summit to decide how to deal with the new Brexit deadline of April 12.

If there is no deal agreed by then, Theresa May will have three choices - revoke Article 50 to cancel Brexit; crash out with no deal; or have a "long" delay.
