Duo complete six-day walking challenge for Wishaw-based kids charity

A dynamic duo got on their hiking boots and completed a six day walking challenge raising cash for a Wishaw-based kids charity.

Tam Anderson and Peter Dougan challenged themselves to do the West Highland Way to raise funds for the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation after the charity supported a young family member.

They completed it in six days in roasting weather and raised a phenomenal £1635 to support the small charity.

Angela Cook, from the DreamMaker Foundation, added: “The guys challenged themselves to do the West Highland Way to raise funds for us after we supported a family member.

“They completed it in six days in roasting weather and raised a phenomenal £1635 to support our small charity.

“We are so humbled by the support from local people and really appreciate families that have had our support want to give something back.”

Volunteers from the DreamMaker Foundation will be climbing Ben Lomond on Saturday, August 14.

To sponsor the team or to register an interest in taking part in the walk, log on to the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation Facebook page.

All participants must raise a minimum of £100 for the charity.
