Two men have been arrested after a well-known drug crime gang were busted by Gardai in Dublin this morning.
As many as 13 vehicles and cash were seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau on Tuesday following the search of a compound in south Dublin.
The pair are understood to be associated with a number of other Organised Crime Groups that are involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activity in Ireland with today's operation described as a "significant development" in the clampdown on this type of criminality.
The raid on the "single, heavily fortified" unit saw ten motorcycles including a BMW and Harley Davidson taken by officers.
As well as this, a BMW car, Ford Ranger jeep, Volkswagen Scirocco and €4,000 in cash was also seized in the op.
Prior to today’s search, the investigation has resulted in the seizure of over €130,000 also.
The arrested duo are being detained for money laundering offences and are currently being quizzed by officers at Garda Stations within the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
A spokeswoman for Gardai said: "Today’s search operation targeted a criminal grouping aligned to a number of Organised Crime Groups involved in drug trafficking and organised criminality nationally. Today marks a significant development in an ongoing money laundering and proceeds of crime investigation.
She added: "The search operation was conducted by the Criminal Assets Bureau in conjunction with Crumlin District personnel and supported by the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Air Support Unit, Armed Support Unit and the Customs Dog Unit.
"Today’s operation is part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Criminal Assets Bureau and Crumlin District Detective Unit."
