Dunnes Stores urgently recall dessert product which is 'unsafe' for some shoppers

Dunnes Stores across Ireland have recalled their own brand Luxury Apple Pie as undeclared ingredients pose a threat to consumers with food allergies.

According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), the tarts were accidentally mis-packed with a similar product, Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie.

The two products have a similar packaging, but the pear and almond pie contains nuts- an allergen which is not mentioned on the Luxury Apple Pie label.

The batch with the use by date of 4/10/2021 is “unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds,” said the FSAI.
