Dunnes Stores start Christmas 2021 season with tiny change only some customers noticed

Supermarkets are already getting in the Christmas spirit with Halloween less than three days ago.

It is now 52 days until Christmas Day and shops are already stocking up on festive sweets and gifts for early shoppers.

And some Dunnes Stores shoppers have already noticed a subtle change in shops around the country.

As soon as November 1, Christmas music could be heard over the tannoy in multiple supermarkets.

One customer in Dunnes Gorey said: "Can the mythical people who want to destroy Christmas please focus their efforts on the store music system in Dunnes Stores Gorey please and thank you?"

Another shopper elsewhere said: "OK, first Christmas song in Dunnes today. Only almost two months. Cashier said she had already tuned out which is admirable self preservation."

A Dublin shopper said: "Dunnes Cornelscourt has transformed into a Christmas Wonderland.....Halloween has just gone to sleep!"

One more said: "In Dunnes earlier and the poor woman behind the register looked horrified and asked me if I also heard the Christmas music. I did, they just turned it on... feel for her the next two months!"

Have you heard any Christmas music or seen overly festive stock in supermarkets already? Let us know in the comments.
