Dunnes Stores is expected to open a brand new store in Dundrum Town Shopping Centre after agreeing a deal for a second floor unit.
It is understood that a second floor space in Dundrum Town Centre will be the new location for the store, which comes as Penneys completes its planned move to two floors of the former House of Fraser department store. As reported by The Irish Times this week, Dunnes Stores has recently signed a 12-year lease of €2.07 million per year following the expiry of an agreed rent-free period estimated to be in the region of 24 months.
The retail space for the new Dunnes Store is about 40,000 square feet. While it is not yet clear when the new store will open in Dundrum, Penneys planned move is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

However, this could mean that the opening of the new Dunnes Stores could be later in the new year. Meanwhile, there's more exciting news for shoppers at Dundrum Town Centre as cosmetics chain Lush is set to open its new store in the shopping centre on Friday, November 11.
Lush is one of the newest additions to Dundrum Town Centre which has also recently welcomed Watches of Switzerland and Gym + Coffee. Dundrum Town Centre is co-owned by Hammerson; a company whose other key retail outlets include Les Terrasses du Port in Merseille and Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, women's leggings brand Peachylean has also recently opened its first pop up shop in Dundrum just in time for the start of the Christmas season.
