Dunnes Stores has issued an urgent recall of one of its popular chicken products due to incorrect cooking instructions.
The supermarket's Free Range Irish Chicken has the incorrect weight of 1700g printed on the label, therefore the cooking instructions are wrong. The implicated batch has a use-by date of September 18 and the product approval number is IE 814 EC.
A notice posted by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland said that point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.

Last week, the FSAI posted a recall notice for a popular Haagen-Dazs ice-cream product. The Haagen-Dazs Duo Vanilla Crunch Collection, pack size 4x95ml, has been recalled due to the presence of the unauthorised pesticide ethylene oxide.
Ethylene oxide is not permitted to be used in foods sold within the EU, but is approved in some other countries. The FSAI said: "Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there is an increased risk if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide in contaminated food over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to ethylene oxide needs to be minimised."
The affected product has a best before date of 23/3/2023. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
