Dunmurry incident sees two men fire 'number of shots' at property in 'calculated attack'

A number of shots have allegedly been fired at a property in Dunmurry.

Police received a report on Sunday night, August 15 just before 10.25pm that two men fired a number of shots at a house at Old Colin Road.

The shots are reported to have been fired at the door and living room window, causing "extensive damage to the property".

A PSNI spokesperson added: “Thankfully the male occupant, who was home at the time, was uninjured.

“It’s reported that the two suspects took aim from the front fence of the property. They were both dressed in dark clothing, with their faces covered and wearing baseball caps. The pair subsequently made off on foot in the direction of Poleglass.

“This was a contemptible and calculated attack, with the most serious potential consequences. Worryingly anyone, from the resident to potential passers-by, could have been killed.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1921 of 15/08/21.”

A report can also be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.

Alternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
