Dunmurry crash leaves pedestrian in "critical condition"

A man is in a critical condition following a crash in Dunmurry on Boxing Day .

Police say they received reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at Glenburn Mews on Thursday 26 December at around 6:20pm.

They issued an appeal on Friday afternoon for dash-cam footage and witnesses.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The report was received at around 6.20pm that a silver Chrysler Ypsilon car had been in collision with a male pedestrian near the junction with Kingsway.

"The driver was spoken to by officers at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition .

"An investigation is ongoing and officers would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage to contact them in Woodbourne on 101 quoting reference number 1003 26/12/19."

An Ambulance Service spokesman later confirmed that they had sent a rapid response vehicle, an emergency crew and the Air Ambulance to the scene after getting a call at around 6.20pm.
