
Dungog rower Spencer Turrin has claimed an Olympic gold medal after helping Australia win the men's fours final in Tokyo.
Turrin, Alex Hill, Jack Hargreaves and Alex Purnell finished ahead of Romania and Italy over the 2000m course at Sea Forest Waterway on Wednesday.

They led from start to finish in what was a strong performance.
Australia hadn't won this event since clinching back-to-back gold medals with the Oarsome Foursome in 1992 and 1996.
Great Britain had won at each Games since, but the five-time defending champions missed the podium and veered outside their lane in the closing stages.
The Aussie women's fours were successful in the race prior, making it a national rowing double.
