Dungannon Swifts teenager Adam Glenny signs first professional deal with club

Teenage defender Adam Glenny has signed his first professional contract with Dungannon Swifts.

The 18-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the Stangmore Park club.

Glenny has been with Dungannon since the age of 14, progressing through the Youth Academy at Dungannon United Youth.

He recently made his debut against Cliftonville after being called in late to replace Alan Teggart.

“We are thrilled to get Adam signed up with his first professional contract which is full credit to him after all the hard work he has put in," Swifts boss Kris Lindsay told Dungannon's website.

"He came into the squad over the summer and fitted right in. In the games that he has played in he hasn’t looked out of place. Adam is a mature lad with great ability so I definitely see a big future for him.”

Dungannon Director of Football Dixie Robinson added: “We’re absolutely delighted to see Adam getting his professional deal.

"He has done really well since arriving to Dungannon so it’s no more than he deserves. If there is boxes to be ticked to become a full-time footballer, Adam definitely ticks the most of them.

"Adam is a great example to all the other young boys in the club and since Kris has given him his opportunity he has taken it with both hands.”
