An application has been lodged with Mid Ulster District Council’s planners to convert a shop into a new Chinese takeaway..
Lodged by agent Concept44 Architecture on behalf of applicant Mr Paul Su, the application seeks permission to convert a commercial site at 22 Perry Street into a Chinese restaurant, Su’s Welcome Chinese.
According to the application form, the site was previously a commercial unit but has been vacant for over ten years.

It is anticipated the site will require 1m3 of water per day and trade refuse will be collected by a private company .
Currently, no vehicles attend the site on a daily basis however, should these plans come to fruition, it is expected 25 vehicles will attend the site on a daily basis.
Further detail is provided which suggests two staff vehicles, 22 customer vehicles and one goods vehicle will attend the site on a daily basis.
The increase in vehicle numbers attending the site will lead to three employees and 30 others attending the site on a daily basis.
The mains will be used to supply water to the site and dispose of surface water and foul sewage according to the application.
Lodged and validated on Monday, August 22, the application will be advertised until Thursday, September 8, with council’s planner setting an internal target date of Monday, December 5, to reach a decision.
