Dunfermline release former Kilmarnock trio just days after Championship season ends

Three former Kilmarnock players have today been released from Dunfermline.

Goalkeeper Lee Robinson, Kallum Higginbotham and Robbie Muirhead have all been shown the door by the Pars.

It comes just two days after Dunfermline finished their Championship campaign in seventh place.

Muirhead failed to score in his 14 appearances at East End Park this season.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor set to miss Kilmarnock Premiership clash  

Higginbotham scored just twice in his 28 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

And stopper Robinson kept 10 clean sheets in his 28 games.

The Killie trio were three of nine players axed by the Pars, as Sean Murdoch, Ryan Williamson, Mark Durnan, Louis Longridge, Aidan Connolly and Brandon Luke were also released.

And four loanees have returned to their parent club: James Vincent, Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Ryan Blair and Bruce Anderson.
