Dunfermline flat fire 'not boiler explosion' as previously reported say police

A house fire that left a Fife man hospitalised is now believed not to have been a boiler explosion following previous reports that it was, according to place.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Dewar Street in Dunfermline on Saturday just before 2pm following a series of panicked calls, and eyewitnesses reportedly saw the property engulfed in fire.

A 35-year-old man was soon rushed to St John's Hospital and his condition is yet to be disclosed.

Many other residents in the area were evacuated from their homes.

As reported by the Daily Record, a spokeswoman for the police has revealed that contrary to initial reports, the fire was not the result of a gas explosion.
