Hamilton boss Stuart Taylor was left frustrated as his side emerged from Dunfermline with just a point from their 0-0 draw yesterday.
The result at East End Park keeps Accies two points above their hosts in the Championship table, but Taylor felt it could have been more, based on chances created.
While both sides struck the post - Craig Wighton for Dunfermline in the first half and Lewis Smith for Accies in 60 minutes - Accies forced a few good saves from ex-Hamilton keeper Owain Fon-Williams.
Taylor said: "I thought it was a good game, I thought we edged it, in terms of being the better side.
"We looked at the stats and Ryan Fulton didn't have a save to make.
"We looked for the lads being more ruthless on both sides of the pitch, and I thought that we were, defensively, hence the reason why Fults didn't have a shot to save.
"But still we can be more clinical in the final third. I think we're getting into good positions, into wider areas, we're getting balls into the box, and we just need to open up teams a little bit better.
"It's difficult when teams really sit and be compact, but we looked to get round the sides and get balls into the box, which was pleasing on that side, and we made their keeper make a few good saves.
"We've hit the post as well in the second half."
Taylor added: "It's keeping at it, keep working as hard as we're working, keep doing what we're doing every day at training, and we'll start getting goals.
"We edged it; if you were to turn around and say 'one team is going to come away with the win, they would've deserved it', then I would say we edged it, but Dunfermline would say they hit the post in the first half.
"Over and above that, that was really it, whereas their keeper has made a fantastic save in the first half, he's made a few good saves in the second half, we've hit the post in the second half, and we had a lot more shots.
"I think we had 11 shots, six on target, and we had a lot of corners, so a lot of our play was in their final third.
"Do I think we battered them? No, we didn't, it was a close game, but I think we edged it.
"It is what it is, it's about what we're doing, how we're doing and are we doing it well enough.
"We need to improve, we need to get better, definitely."
