Dunelm shoppers besotted with 'gorgeous' velvet sofa that looks 'so expensive'

Dunelm shoppers were besotted after spotting a "gorgeous" velvet sofa online.

Retail stores remain closed while lockdown restrictions introduced in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic continue but shoppers are still able to view and order items online.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson last month confirmed non-essential retailers such as clothing and homeware stores, betting shops, electronics stores and more could begin to reopen, provisionally, from April 12.

While shoppers have to wait until they can step inside their favourite stores, many retailers have taken to social media to keep them informed on what stock to expect.

Taking to Instagram, Dunelm shared a photo of a plush green velvet sofa which got many shoppers excited.

Accompanying the image of the sofa, the popular homeware store penned: "Remember me? I may look like Rupert, but my name is Beatrice

"I'm just as squidgy and comfy, but I'm made from 100% recycled velvet that's even softer than ever!"

The photo pulled in more than 4,800 likes from impressed shoppers. They shared their thoughts in the comments section.

Charlotte wrote: "Beautiful sofa!"

Roberta said: "That colour!"

Danielle said: "Ooh this is gorgeous."

One shopper said: "This looks so much more expensive."

Another shopper commented: "Wow! Love this, looks so comfy."

And another said: "Beautiful."

Laura added: "Love love love."
