Dunelm shopper baffled by chopping board sticker saying he can't actually use it

A shopper was left baffled after he purchased a chopping board from Dunelm with very strict - yet odd - instructions.

The man, named Stuart Anthony scoured budget home store Dunelm in search of a new kitchen accessory and came across a wooden chopping board that would do the job.

But when he noticed a sticker on the back of it that advised users against using it as a chopping board, he was more than confused.

The warning states: "WOOD CHOPPING BOARD. Wipe clean only, wipe up skills immediately to avoid staining. Do not soak, do not use as a chopping board."

Stuart took to Twitter to share a picture of the confusing instructions, writing: "Errrr...."

What should it be used for then? (STU_ACTOR/Twitter)

Unsurprisingly, his post received plenty of attention from fellow customers who were all trying to work out what the purpose of the board actually is.

One person said: "Hahaha chopping board instructions clear as covid guidelines."

Another said: "It's obviously just a 'show chopping board.'"

A third person added: "It’s not a chopping board for veg, it’s a karate chop, chopping board to prove how strong you are."

Many of the tweets also shared a similar theme: "This has 2020 written all over it!"

But after the picture circulated online, and a woman wrote: "So, Dunelm…what is this piece of wood for then?! @DunelmUK", a member of the team replied to debunk the mystery.

It read: "Hi Becks, I am very sorry to see you have noticed our error on our chopping board label, please be advised we are aware of this error and this has been raised to our merchandising team."
