‘Dune: Part Two’ release delayed until November 2023

“Dune” fans are going to have to wait a little long for the sequel.

The release of “Dune: Part Two,” set on a planet where spice is the most coveted commodity, has been delayed, Variety reported Thursday.

The second installment of Denis Villeneuve’s Academy Award-winning adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic is now set to soar into theaters on Nov. 17, 2023, instead of Oct. 20, 2023.

The new date will transport audiences out of this world on the same day as “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” the prequel to the dystopian franchise that ended in 2015 with “Mockingjay Part 2.”

Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem will reprise their roles from the first chapter of “Dune” — which hit theaters last fall, scored 10 Academy Award nominations, including best picture, and took home 6 Oscars.

The production from Warner Bros. and Legendary will add the likes of Florence Pugh, “Elvis” star Austin Butler and Christopher Walken to the ranks.
