Since Dune Awakening is an MMORPG, servers play a significant role here, which means there will be weekly wipes to keep things fresh, and that’s exactly what the Coriolis Storm does.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Coriolis Storm timing and how it functions across servers.
What are Coriolis Storms in Dune Awakening?
Coriolis Storms in Dune Awakening are sandstorms that take place all over the planet and happen weekly. They directly impact the gameplay as they reset the PvP zones of Arakkis.
Due to this, players have to adapt and restructure their strategies for survival and resource allocation while also looking for the best places for reposition and setting up their bases.
What happens when a Coriolis Storm hits?
When a Coriolis Storm hits, old landmarks are buried while bases or structures built by players are covered or often destroyed totally or partially. The storm also reveals new locations and resource-rich POIs.
Here’s a detailed overview of the aftereffects of a Coriolis storm:
- Complete reshuffle of terrain and resource nodes
- Uncovering new shipwrecks, spice blows, and rare minerals
- Appearance of Imperial Testing Stations with unique loot and tech
- Some previously discovered locations may be buried or erased
- Fundamental transformation of the landscape
- Any unprotected or unshielded structures in the Deep Desert get destroyed
This prevents Dune Awakening from getting stale, as the environment is completely dynamic and ever-changing, with fresh challenges.

When do Coriolis Storms occur in Dune Awakening?
Coriolis Storms occur every Tuesday when the servers restart. However, the timing differs from timezone to timezone. For people residing in the UTC timezone, it’ll be on 10am on Mondays.
When these storms are about to hit Arakkis, you will get in-game visual warnings by the Communinet every hour, saying the “Eye of the Storm” will reach the area in some hours. Once the storm ends, a new Landsraad cycle begins.
What should you do during Coriolis Storms?
The first and foremost thing you must do during these massive Coriolis Storms is move your base to the Hagga Basin. This PvE area remains unaffected during these sandstorms, giving you the ideal opportunity to prevent your base’s destruction.

Apart from that, avoid traveling across Arakkis an hour before the sandstorms hit, as there will be no visibility, and you will get blown away. Also, build high-speed vehicles such as Sandbikes for exploration once these storms settle.
