The long wait is slowly coming to an end for "Dune: Awakening" as the beta testing phase is beginning this week. Players who are interested in joining the beta program still have a chance to do so, and they only need a key to enter.
However, obtaining the key to join the beta is not that straightforward as only selected players will be given the chance to access the open-world MMO title. There will also be different start times for global fans.
'Dune: Awakening' Beta Begins This Week
Funcom has given massive hope to the fans of the long-awaited "Dune: Awakening" as the company has already set the beta testing program that will offer an early look into the game for this Friday, May 9. In this beta experience of "Dune: Awakening," users will be treated to the first 20 hours of the upcoming game.
In addition to this, it was previously announced by Funcom that despite already offering a massive multiplayer experience on "Dune: Awakening," players will also be treated to future optional paid DLCs for the title.
However, that may remain tentative as it is known that developers base the game's future updates and extra content in its popularity or reception in its early days.
How to Secure a Key to 'Dune' Beta
According to ComicBook Gaming, players are given the chance to join the beta testing program, by obtaining a key. However, obtaining a key is not as simple as users would have to anticipate a code from one of the game's livestreams.
First, users need to wish list the game on its Steam page as well as request beta access via the platform, which would first be available on PC.
Next, users are required to head over to "Dune: Awakening's" official website and sign up with their email.
Lastly, users need to anticipate the global broadcasts of "Dune: Awakening" and Funcom on Twitch to receive a beta code, which they will later need to enter to obtain access to the beta program.
While these are still not guarantees to secure a key to access the beta, ComicBook Gaming claims that this could help boost their chances in getting the chance to preview "Dune: Awakening" before its launch.
Start Times for 'Dune: Awakening'
Funcom previously announced that the beta program for "Dune: Awakening" will begin on May 9 at 8 a.m. EDT (12 PM UTC) and would end by Monday, May 12 at 5:59 p.m. EDT (9:59 PM UTC).
In less than a month from the beta, "Dune: Awakening" will be released globally on June 10.
