Dune 3 title is not what fans expected

  • The third film in Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune series is officially titled Dune: Part Three.
  • Fans have expressed disappointment with the chosen title, having anticipated it would be named Dune Messiah, aligning with the second book in the series which the film is expected to cover.
  • The director reportedly opted for consistency with the naming convention of the first two films, Dune and Dune: Part Two, which together adapted the first novel.
  • Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa are confirmed to reprise their roles, with filming reportedly commencing in Budapest.
  • Dune: Part Three is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, following the significant global success of the second film.
