Dundrum Village is set to operate a one way traffic system in a bid to make it pedestrian friendly

Dundrum Village is set to operate a one way traffic system in a bid to make it pedestrian and cyclist friendly.

The new design for the south Dublin village will see a one-way flow for cars and cyclists from Sandyford Road (near the Council ‘Don Marmion’ car park) northwards onto Main St. as far as the entrance to the lower street or Lidl car park.

The measures by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council will see a lane of traffic removed as well as the repositioning of parking spaces.

Additionally Kilmacud Road Upper will be made one-way also for cars moving in an westerly direction.

It is hoped that the new plan will make the village more accessible for pedestrians, cyclists, and businesses.

Works are expected to start at the end of July and finish at the end of August.
