Dundee United set to sign Scott McMann from Hamilton Accies

Hamilton Accies favourite Scott McMann is set to join Dundee United ahead of tonight's transfer deadline with the defender undergoing a medical.

The left-back is a product of Hamilton's youth academy and looks set to end a 13-year association with Accies if he seals his move to Tannadice.

Dundee United announced in the last hour that left-back Jamie Robson has left the club for English League One side Lincoln City and McMann is the man they want to replace him.

The 25-year-old has made over 150 appearances for the New Douglas Park side, but is expected to be playing Premiership football again under Terrors boss Tam Courts.

McMann last played for Accies in Saturday's 2-1 win at Queen of the South, helping them to their first win of the season and their maiden victory under new boss Stuart Taylor.

The news arrives hot on the heels of Accies signing Hearts defender Mihai Popescu on loan.

Accies are in action tonight in the SPFL Trust Trophy against Hearts B, but Popescu is ineligible having played in the first round for the Jambos.

Taylor has already told Lanarkshire Live Sport he expects no further signings on deadline day.
