Dundee United provide vaccine passport update ahead of Motherwell clash

Motherwell fans travelling to Saturday's Premiership clash at Dundee United will not require to show a vaccine passport to gain admission to Tannadice.

The Tangerines have announced that the club expect a crowd below the 10,000 threshold and, therefore, fans will not be asked to provide proof they have been double vaccinated against Covid-19.

Saturday's clash is a 3pm kick-off in the City of Discovery and the Steelmen head north looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Celtic at the weekend.

United, meanwhile, are enjoying a good run of form having beaten Hibernian 3-0 on Saturday. They also defeated Ross County and held the Hoops to 1-1 draw at Parkhead in their previous fixtures.

A statement from Dundee United said: " Supporters will not be required to show vaccine passports for the next set of Tannadice matches as crowds below 10,000 are expected for each of the following fixtures:

  • v Motherwell, Saturday 23 October, 2021 at 3pm
  • v St Johnstone, Saturday 30 October, 2021 at 3pm

"Likewise, the Scotland Under 21 fixtures to be played at Tannadice (Friday 12 November v Kazakhstan and Tuesday 16 November v Belgium) are both expected to have crowds of fewer than 10,000 also and as such both will also fall into the category of not requiring vaccine passports to be displayed by those attending.

"Please note however that while Covid-19 remains a potential risk the safety of spectators remains paramount and we will continue to adhere to the Covid protocols and procedures currently in place."

Motherwell are currently sixth in the Premiership, with United sitting in third spot.
